Significant does not mean important, and business assignments test whether you know that
A large dataset makes almost any difference statistically significant. Whether a two per cent difference matters commercially is a separate question, and it is usually the one the assignment is really asking.

Choosing the test and interpreting the output, not running it
Software runs whatever you ask it to. The assessed skills are picking the analysis that answers the question, checking the conditions hold, and saying what the result means for a decision. Students frequently produce clean output and a thin paragraph, which is the wrong way round for the points available.
Interpretation for a business audience is its own skill. A manager does not need the t statistic; they need to know whether the difference is real, how large it is, and what to do. A conclusion written for a statistics professor rather than the audience the case names loses points in most rubrics.
Regression is where most confusion sits, usually around what the coefficients mean in the units of the problem and around the difference between correlation and cause. Assignments test both constantly.
- Test selection justified against the business question
- Assumptions checked and mentioned
- Effect size and practical significance discussed, not just p values
- Conclusions written for the decision maker the case names
What we work on
Your own dataset and your own rubric
- Descriptive statistics and choosing the right chart
- Hypothesis testing, confidence intervals and what they mean
- Regression, interpreting coefficients in the units of the problem
- Excel data analysis tools and SPSS basics
- Writing the interpretation for a non-statistical reader
We teach the method. You run the analysis
- We do not run your analysis or complete your assignments.
- We do not fabricate or alter data.
- We do not sit or assist during any exam or timed quiz.
- We do not supply completed work to adapt.
- We work through your own dataset with you and review your write-up.

Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on your question, how many groups you are comparing, and how the variables are measured. Comparing two group means points to a t-test, three or more to ANOVA, categorical associations to chi-square, and prediction to regression. One session usually settles it for a specific assignment.
The probability of seeing a result at least this extreme if the null hypothesis were true. It does not tell you the size of the effect or whether it matters commercially. Business rubrics increasingly test whether you can say that.
In the units of the problem: a one-unit increase in this predictor is associated with this much change in the outcome, holding the others constant. Putting it in the units the case uses, dollars or units sold, is usually what earns the interpretation points.
For most business statistics coursework, yes, and many programs expect it. Excel's analysis tools cover the standard tests. Check what your rubric requires, because some ask specifically for particular output.
Not necessarily. A non-significant result is a result, and reporting it honestly with a note on sample size and effect size is exactly what is expected. Looking for a different test that produces significance is the actual error.
Send the dataset and the question
We will work through which analysis answers it, run it with you, and check that the interpretation says something a manager could act on.
