Which sections does your program actually require?
The HESI A2 is a bank of sections rather than a fixed test. Programs commonly require reading comprehension, vocabulary and general knowledge, grammar, mathematics, and one or more sciences from anatomy and physiology, biology, chemistry and physics. Some also administer the learning style and personality profiles, which are not scored against you.
Because the combination varies, the single most common waste of preparation time on the HESI is studying chemistry for a program that only sets anatomy and physiology. Confirm the list with your school before anything else, and bring it to the first session.
After that, the work is the same shape as any entrance exam: read the score report by section, weight the plan toward what is actually below the cut, and practice the timing separately.

How a HESI plan runs
Confirm your sections
Get the required list from your program in writing. It is the cheapest step in the whole plan and it regularly saves a candidate two weeks of studying the wrong science.
Read the score report
Section by section against your school's cut score, so the plan targets what is actually below it.
Weakest section first
Weighted study, usually anatomy and physiology or mathematics, with the rest kept warm rather than restudied from scratch.
One timed run, then taper
A full-length attempt under real conditions and a debrief, then no new material.
