Does the number of questions tell me whether I passed?
No. Adaptive testing ends when the algorithm is confident about your ability, which can happen at the minimum or the maximum number of items for both passing and failing candidates. Reading meaning into the length is a reliable way to make the wait worse, and it tells you nothing.
