Am I using too many transition words?
If most paragraphs open with one, yes. Used well they mark a genuine logical turn. Used on every paragraph they become noise, and they often hide the fact that consecutive paragraphs are not actually related. Try deleting them all and adding back only those whose absence is confusing.
